New Orleans: Essence Festival organisers released the lineup for this Summer’s festival on Tuesday and it is star-packed with both current favourites and long-time legends.

Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae and Janet Jackson are some of the headliners the main stage for the Essence festival 2020, it was Tweeted Tuesday morning.

Mars was featured in an exceedingly much-talked-about Super Bowl performance a few years ago, whereas Monae is contemporary off of a performance that had social media droning at the Oscars.

Janet Jackson is a legend from the talented Jackson family.

Local favourite Tank and Da Bangas will also perform.

Other performances embrace Swizz Beatz, Patti Labelle, Janelle Monae and Ari Lennox.

Essence Festival will be held on July 3-5.

Essence Festival is held each year on the weekend nearest the Fourth of July and provides a huge economic boost to the city of New Orleans during what is an otherwise slow time.

This year the festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
