In a recent announcement, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, confirmed that the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3), is set to launch by March 2025. This marks a departure from the company’s previous annual release cycle, as the focus shifts towards integrating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features into the device.
Pei emphasized that the delay is intentional, aiming to develop a more AI-centric phone that moves away from the traditional app-based experience. He envisions a “post-app world” where AI is seamlessly integrated at the system level, providing a highly personalized and dynamic user experience.
The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to feature a 6.67-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It may offer up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, along with a 5000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. Additionally, the device is anticipated to introduce a new action button, similar to Apple’s implementation, enhancing user interaction.
The integration of AI is not just limited to hardware enhancements. Nothing aims to redefine the user interface by incorporating AI-driven features that simplify and personalize the user experience. This includes a revamped home screen and an AI assistant designed to anticipate user needs, reducing reliance on traditional apps.
While the exact launch date remains unspecified, the company has indicated that the Nothing Phone (3) will debut before the end of the first quarter of 2025. As the launch approaches, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on how Nothing plans to revolutionize the smartphone experience through AI integration.
This strategic shift underscores Nothing’s commitment to innovation, positioning the company to compete in the evolving landscape of AI-powered personal devices.
