ViVo’s iQOO Launches First 5G Smartphone In India Powered By Snapdragon 865 SoC

iQOO, which is known as the sub-brand of Vivo in China, is all set to make its way to the Indian market first 5G-enabled smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset as an independent brand next month, said director of marketing for iQOO India, Gagan Arora, confirmed via a press statement.

Vivo had launched the first model under the iQOO sub-brand in China in March last year and sold 2,00,000 devices in 4 hours. The phone designed for mobile gamers and photographers and included top-end specifications and 44W Vivo Super Flash Charge fast charging technology.

iQOO will operate as an independent brand in India and now setting up our operations, supply chain and our new office in Bengaluru, but it will still make use of Vivo’s manufacturing facility to control the cost to offer the best prices to customers.

iQOO has already hired 80 executives across functions and will expand the manpower to further support its operations in India. iQOO will launch 5G and 4G variants of its latest premium smartphone which will feature high-end specifications.

We see extreme potential in the premium segment smartphone market in India and have deep-dived to understand the gap that the consumers face in this segment. We understand very closely that there is an increasing demand for performance delivery devices and smooth smartphone experience. Our phones will be 100 per cent ‘Make in India’ and the plant’s capacity is geared to support our sales target.
