Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi is set to debut first-ever smart wearable device (Redmi Band) in China on Friday, April 3, Redmi announced on Thursday to release a teaser poster on Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo, which shows a Redmi-branded band on a wrist.
The header image, shared by the official Xiaomi account on Weibo, the Chinese text on the poster translates to, ‘First wearable device, See you live at Smart Inn Mi Fan Festival at 2pm.’
Redmi became an independent entity in early 2019, it has been involved in the IoT field in addition to smartphones. The brand also forayed into various product categories such as notebooks, smart TVs, routers, smart speakers, washing machines, and many other categories.
We can expect the Redmi Band come with the same set of features as Mi Bands like AMOLED touchscreen display, 2.5D curved design, fitness tracking, heart rate monitor, flat colour display, water-resistant up to 50 meters, music and volume control etc. The Band comes with features like app alerts, control phone’s music playback, DND, find the device, and timer. The 135mAh Li-Ion polymer battery is claimed to last up to 20 days.
