US President Donald Trump has arrived at Ahmedabad. This is Trump’s first official visit to India as President. Trump will stay in Ahmedabad for 230 minutes, do a 22 km roadshow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attend the Namaste Trump program at Motera Stadium. Trump is the 7th US President to visit India in the last 61 years. Barack Obama visited India twice. Modi tweeted, “Trump, India is waiting for you. Your visit will strengthen the relationship between the two countries. “
Here is Trump schedule for the day
Trump will arrive at 11:40 am at Ahmedabad airport, will welcome with conch-drum-manjire. A 150-foot-long red carpet was laid for first family of America. 19 artists will welcome. A thousand artists will perform traditional dances inside the airport. Trump will be given a guard of honour in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At 11:50 pm 22 km long roadshow will begin. Tables from 28 states are decorated. The roadshow is named ‘India Road Show’. US President will go to Gandhi Ashram from the airport.
At 12.20 pm Trump will reach Gandhi Ashram. After visiting the ashram, they will stay on the banks of the Sabarmati river for some time. The Trump family will get welcome with a string of threads at the ashram. After that, the Trump couple will go to Hriday Kunj Vatika. After paying homage to Gandhiji they will leave Gandhi Ashram and will go to the Motera stadium.
At 1.05 pm Trump and Modi will be in the stadium between 1 million people till 3 pm. Artists from several states including Nagaland, Assam will perform the song and music at the Motera Stadium. Kailash Kher will perform Sufi singing. After that Modi will give a welcome speech. He will talk on US-India relations. This will be followed by President Trump’s speech. Finally, Modi and Trump will circle the stadium in an open jeep.
At 3:30 pm Trump-Melania will leave for Agra. He is scheduled to watch the Taj Mahal for half an hour. At 6:45 pm, Trump will fly to Delhi and will reach Delhi at 7:30 pm.
On February 25, Trump will meet the President at 10:00 am to have a formal reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Modi will have a formal meeting with the US President in Hyderabad. The two leaders will also issue a joint statement.
The Trump family will remain in a 5-tier security cordon. The entire responsibility for the internal security of the first family of America will be given to the American Secret Service and only Indian licensing officers will have access to them. In the second round NSG, Chetak Commandos, Para Military Force and finally external security and maintenance by 25000 personnel of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi Police will be responsible. Govt will spend around Rs 1.5 crore on hourly and Rs 100 crore on 36 hours of security on US President.
