Poet Munawwar Rana’s Daughter Says Cases Against Me Are Badge Of Honour

Sumaiya Rana, daughter of poet Munawwar Rana, on Sunday aforesaid that the cases filed against her by the Uttar Pradesh government are a badge of honour for her.

She was attending an anti-CAA event at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

“I have aforesaid that the Uttar Pradesh police is acting in an autocratic manner which this will not work. As a result, cases were filed against me and my sister on a consequent day for alleged violation of section 144,” aforesaid Rana.

“Yogi Adityanath should be thinking that I actually have been tortured by him through this act. I’d say that this can be a badge of honour for us. the next generations will remember us for this,” she said.

“The environment within the country is vitriolic and it’s suffocating to live in such conditions,” she added.

“If Sumaiya Rana feels suffocated within the country, then there are a fair amount of ways open for her to travel to Pakistan,” Aligarh MP and BJP leader Satish Gautam on Sunday.

“In India, one will speak publicly with freedom,” he said.
