The Indian Railways will gradually restart passenger train services from May 12, initially with 15 pairs of trains operating each day, the Ministry of Railways said in a Sunday statement.
According to the railway ministry, these trains will be operated as special trains from New Delhi station from May 12.

- New Delhi to Ranchi
- New Delhi to Secunderabad
- New Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram
The booking for reservation on these trains will start at 4 p.m. on Monday and will only be available on the IRCTC website.
Ticket booking counters at the railway stations will remain closed and platform tickets will not available.
Only passengers with valid verified tickets will be permitted to access the railway station. It will be mandatory for the passengers to wear masks and undergo screening at departure and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to enter the railway station and board the trains.
Indian Railways shall establish more special services on new routes, on the basis of available coaches, after reserving 20,000 coaches for the Covid-19 Care Centres and a sufficient number of coaches reserved to allow the operation of up to 300 trains per day as Shramik Special for stranded migrants.
All passenger rail services were suspended as a result of the national lockdown announced on March 25 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
