Recharge Prepaid Mobile Directly From Google Search

Google on Tuesday introduced a new feature to help the users compare and recharge prepaid mobile packs on their Android phones using Google Search.

This feature allows user to show a ‘Mobile Recharge’ window, when users try to search with mobile recharge related queries. In case you have already linked your mobile number with your Gmail account, you wouldn’t have to manually enter your phone number. Google will automatically enter your number and detect your operator.

If users have linked mobile number with Gmail account, they don’t need to manually enter phone number. Google will automatically enter mobile number and detect operator and will show a list of all the available prepaid plans for user’s phone number. This feature will provide users with an option to browse available plans by the particular mobile operator.

Google will redirect users to a page with different payment options available such as the Google Pay, Freecharge, Mobiwik and Paytm. Users can enter their details or if users have any of the payment wallet mentioned above than directly pay and checkout. The recharge confirmation page will help users with proper customer support information.

Google will not only allow users to recharge their own number, but also lets you recharge another person’s prepaid plan.

Currently, Google lists out recharge packs from operators like Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, BSNL users across India.

The feature comes at a time when Indian telecom operators are struggling and have recently increased the tariff of some of their prepaid recharge plans.

In India there are approximately 1.1 billion cellular users, about 95 per cent of which cover prepaid SIM cards. Prepaid cellular subscribers use a variety of ways to recharge their mobile phone.
