POCO India General Manager Manmohan Chandolu has officially announced, POCO will introduce its next smartphone in the Indian market next month., i.e. February. POCO has been spun off from Xioami as a separate entity, is working towards becoming an independent legal entity in India.
“We will launch our new phone next month. We will start online and then progress to additional channels,” he said.
Manmohan said to PTI, the company will leverage some resources from Xiaomi like after-sales but that will be done through separate agreements. The company has already established a product, sales and marketing team of its own.
Poco has confirmed that it is coming to the markets with a new smartphone in February, but there’s still no proper date announced. This will be the first smartphone coming from Poco since the brand last launched the F1 back in August 2018.
POCO has not been confirmed the name of the next smartphone yet, either. The company may have dropped a hint that it will be called the POCO X2 though.
We are expecting the Poco X2 is most likely to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G that launched in China in December 2019. That can come with same Snapdragon 730G chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
POCO-branded smart-phones will continue to use MIUI for POCO and will keep on adding on new features based on feedback from users.
